Main Library reopens 10th August
Come and find your new favourite place to study!
We have been working hard all summer to complete the first stage of renovations at the Main Library, and we think you're going to love the result.
The library feels brighter, fresher and more welcoming. Thanks to a smarter use of space, you'll find many more study places, improved rooms for group work, teaching and meetings, and plenty more toilets too.
One of the biggest improvements is something you can't see but will definitely notice: a completely upgraded ventilation system that provides better air quality throughout the building.
Among all the new features, you may spot some familiar favourites. We've refurbished and reused the original bookcases, as well as furniture from Kuggen. And don't worry, the books will be back on the shelves very soon. In the meanwhile you will still need to reserve your books before borrowing them. Please be patient with us while we put the finishing touches in place.
The Main Library reopens on Monday 10 August. Come and take a look around, explore the new spaces, and perhaps discover your new favourite study spot.
Enter via the main entrance and continue to the left of the stairs, follow the signs to the library entrance. Olga's café and the entrance there are closed due to the building works of stage 2 of the renovation.
