Request, reserve and borrow

Practical information on how to borrow and reserve books with us, as well as how to request materials that are not already available in the library.

Library account

Chalmers Students or Staff:

You will need to create a library account and accept the library terms of use to be able to borrow and request printed materials. You can start borrow and request books as soon as you have created your account.

Non-Chalmers users:

You are welcome to use our premises and borrow books, read journals and use a scanner even if you are not a student or staff member of Chalmers. You will need to show a valid photo-ID the first time you borrow something.

Library Terms of Use

Log in

Log into your library account to renew your loans and manage requests.

PIN code

You can change your PIN code yourself if you have forgotten it. Or through the staff at the information desk

Loan period

When you search the library catalog, you can see which loan type a specific resource has.

Reserves and requests

If the book you want has been borrowed, you can put yourself in the queue for it by making a reservation. You will get an email when the book becomes available to borrow. The book remains on the reservations shelf for you for 5 days, and the last day for collection will be written in the email.

You are welcome to place a request if the library does not have the material you are looking for.
